Amsterdam city tour – by foot
Europe has few cities like Amsterdam where the historical centre has remained so well preserved. During this walk, you are presented with a beautiful picture of the cultural and architectural history of Amsterdam – from the medieval Waag, warehouses of the VOC, the Montelbaans Tower, the Beurs of Berlage to the Chinese Buddhist Temple, the Music Theatre and designs of contemporary street furniture. Of course the city has also nice shops, cafes and restaurants.

Amsterdam city tour – by coach
Through this extensive excursion, you will get to know Amsterdam very well. You will see the old and new parts of the city with its many historical buildings and interesting sights. The tour passes by the Royal Palace, the National Monument, the Skinny Bridge, the tipycal houses along the canals, but also the quaint Albert Cuyp Market. Continuing we will also pass by a windmill along the river Amstel and a possible stop will be made at a diamond factory where you can see the traditional way of polishing.
Marken, Volendam & Windmill Village
This excursion shows the typically Dutch countryside of polders and little canals on the way to the ‘Zaanse Schans’, a well-known windmill village with its many interesting windmills. Here you will visit a wooden shoemaker. After this visit we will continue move on to the fishing villages of Volendam and Marken – on the coast of the former Zuiderzee (now called IJsselmeer) – with its wooden houses and its locals still wearing their colorful traditional costumes. On the way, you might stop at one of the few cheese farms, where cheese is still made in the traditional way.
When you are looking for a typical Dutch excursion you should definitely consider visiting the tulip nursery of Siem Munster. At this nursery they have over 1.000.000 tulips in different phases of growth, in many species and colours. You can see many steps of the process yourself and everything will be explained by one of the owners of the nursery.
